How to start a ftp service
[*]How to start a ftp service
[*] Login as root
[*] Vi /etc/vsftpd.conf
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
3.Then start vsftpd service
service vsftpd start
4.See if port 21 is open
5.netstat –na|grep 21
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:21 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
6.See attachment for details.
[*]Open ftp service
[*]1. If ftp service is not open, open it following the last mail I sent before.
[*]2. Step 2, by default step 1 only open the normal user’s ftp privilege(like test), users like root, oracle are denied from the ftp user list.
[*]So you have two choices:
[*]1) copy files from oracle user to test user. Then send files by test user from 99 to 15 node.
[*]2) Open oracle user’s ftp privilege. If so go to Step 3.
[*]3. Step 3, to open oracle user’s ftp privilege, do following:
[*]1) Login as root
[*]2) Vi /etc/ftpusers
[*]#
[*]# ftpusers This file describes the names of the users that may
[*]# _*NOT*_ log into the system via the FTP server.
[*]# This usually includes "root", "uucp", "news" and the
[*]# like, because those users have too much power to be
[*]# allowed to do "just" FTP...
[*]#oracle //mark oracle from the list.
[*]3) Save and done.
Then you can happy to copy files through ftp use the oracle user now.
[*]4) As the oracle user have too much power, it’s dangerous to open the ftp privilege. I suggest to closed it after you finished your job (move the mark from /etc/ftpusers).
