Reason and Prerequisites
Due to an error in the Business Explorer frontend tools, the application of the latest BW/BI Frontend Patch (FEP) or Support Packages (SP) from the SAP Service Marketplace was recommended.

- HOW to APPLY a BW/BI Frontend SP or FEP?
There are two ways how you can provide BW/BI Frontend Tools on your workstation with a Frontend SP/FEP. They depend on how you did the installation (cf. SAP Front End Installation Guide).
The two methods HOW to APPLYare described here in detail:
1. You have installed SAP Front End using an installation server.
a) Apply the SAP Front End patches onto the installation server:
Start "..\setup\NwSapSetupAdmin.exe" from your installation server. Click the toolbar button "Patch Server" to start a wizard.
Click "Next" to continue. Browse to a valid BW/BI Frontend SP/Patch you have downloaded. Click Next and follow the instructions.
A detailed description of this process can be found in the "Installation Server Help.chm" on your installation server setup\-folder under the chapter "Patching the installation server".
b) After you have updated your installation server you can start updating SAP GUI on your workstation by running
\\<Path to your installation server share>\setup\NwSapSetup.exe /update [/silent noDLG]
This will update the SAP GUI on your workstation.
You have installed SAP Frontend directly from DVD / CD, or your installation server is not available anymore.
The Front End patches are self-installing. Simply run the downloaded EXE-file by double-clicking and follow the instructions. |
