HP Mobile Center is a standalone server that provides mobile device access to different test applications. HP Mobile Center supports a distributed architecture where different test clients can all interact with the same Mobile Center server instance.
The HP Mobile Center environment is made up of the following components:
· The Mobile Center server
· Test devices that are connected to the Mobile Center server
· A database server, which by default is run on the Mobile Center server itself
· An optional network virtualization server which can be used to test applications running under different network conditions
The following diagram shows the relationship between these components and the different clients:
The next diagram shows a more drilled-down view, with a focus on the physical deployment of an HP Mobile Center server. The different protocols that run over the various links, and the different ports used by those channels are also shown.
II. Server Requirements
To set up your testing lab, the mobile devices need to be connected to the server machine via USB cable. HP Mobile Center can also be run on a virtual machine. VMWare Workstation (10.0.3) is supported. However, it is important to ensure that you are able to set up a virtual USB bus to the virtual server. Alternatively, use a physical machine where you can connect the mobile devices.

Note:HP Mobile Center server does not support non-English OS servers.
X. Known issues andlimitations
iOS enhancements
RDP
Using RDPyou can only control the test application. Remote access control of thedevice is not yet supported for iOS7 and 8. (For example turning on Wi-Fi onthe device, downloading an app from the AppStore, etc.)
Record andreplay
Systemmessages generated by the OS can't be automated and require manual tapping onconfirmation dialogs. In the case of pop-up confirmations (such as approvalfor accessing sensors such as GPS and camera), we recommend that these be setmanually when the app is first launched, and that you avoid re-installing theapp on the device when testing (deselect the install app flag in your testingtool.)
