Unable to create a new XenDesktop farm using SQL 2012 RTM server, it fails with the following error message:
“Cannot write Property Collation. This Property is not available on SQL Server 7.0”
Citrix is committed to ensure compatibility with the latest Microsoft SQL Server>
XenDesktop 5.0 Service Pack 1
XenDesktop 5.5
XenDesktop 5.6
XenDesktop 7.x
Solution
To resolve the issue, the Share Management Object library must be upgraded to Service Pack 1 on the Systems running Desktop Studio. This is included in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Feature Pack version of the Shared Management Objects Library resolves the issue and replaces the SharedManagementObjects.msi with the Service Pack 1 version within the XenDesktop ISO. Problem Cause
Desktop Studio is not able to communicate with the SQL 2012 server because the Shared Management Object Library included in XenDeskop ISO (..\Support\SharedManagementObjects) is from RTM SQL 2008 R2, which is of lower version. Additional Resources
