哈哈,在公司部署了Nagios. 监控的系统包括Windows2003,Solaris,Linux.效果不错。
因此,主管决定,在他管理的IBM小机上,试一试。先做些准备吧。
其实,也就是那么几步。
1.下载二进制包。nrpe,nagios-plugin.
2.解压。
3.创建用户,授权。
上命令吧。 Download Pre-Compiled BinariesYou will need to download two packages of pre-compiled binaries to your AIX server.First download the pre-compiled Nagios plugin binaries for AIX 5.3 from the following URL:http://exchange.nagios.org/hostedfiles/AIX/aix53_nrpe-nsca-plugins.tgzNext download the pre-compiled NRPE binaries from the following URL:http://www.guntram.de/nagios/AIX-5.3-nrpe-2.12-binaries.tar.gzCreate DirectoriesLogin to your AIX server as the root user and run the following commands:cd /usr/localmkdir nagiosUnpack BinariesNext unpack the pre-compiled plugins and place the extracted files into the /usr/local/nagios directory using commands similar to thefollowing:cd /tmptar xzf /path/to/aix53_nrpe-nsca-plugins.tgzcd /tmp/nagioscp -R * /usr/local/nagiosNext, unpack the prec-ompiled NRPE binaries using commands similar to the following:cd /tmptar xzf /path/to/AIX-5.3-nrpe-2.12-binaries.tar.gzcp usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe /usr/local/nagios/bincp usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg /usr/local/nagios/etcCreate Nagios User And GroupNext, create a Nagios user and group on the AIX server.Use the following command to create a new group:mkgroup nagiosMake a home directory for a Nagios user using the following command:cd /users/mkdir nagiosNext, open up smitty and add a new user with the namenagios. Launch smitty with the following command:smitty userOnce smitty openes, select Add a user, and use thefollowing settings:· User NAME = nagios· Primary Group = users· Group SET = users, nagios· HOME directory = /users/nagiosSet PermissionsChange folder permissions so NRPE will operate properly, with the following command:chown -R nagios.nagios /usr/local/nagiosVerify the permissions on the directory using the following commands:chown /usr/local/nagiosls -lSpecify NRPE Port NumberNext, edit the /etc/services file to add a port number for NRPE.To edit the file, use the following command:vi /etc/servicesAdd a line to the file that looks exactly like this:nrpe 5666/tcp #nrpeSave the file.Configure NRPENext, you'll need to modify the NRPE configuration file to include any command definitions that should be used for monitoring. Thefollowing command definitions provide an example of what can be added to the NRPE configuration.command[check_users]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_users -w 5 -c 10command[check_load]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_load -w 15,10,5 -c 30,25,20command[check_zombie_procs]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_procs -w 5 -c 10 -s Zcommand[check_total_procs]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_procs -w 150 -c 200command[check_aix_ram]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_aix_ram 80 100command[check_aix_home]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_disk -w 90 -c 95 -p /homecommand[check_aix_root]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_disk -w 90 -c 95 -p /command[check_aix_var]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_disk -w 90 -c 95 -p /varcommand[check_aix_usr]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_disk -w 90 -c 95 -p /usrImportant: The names of commands that you define in your NRPE config file are used later when you configure Nagios to monitor theAIX server. If you change command names or add additional commands to the configuration file, you'll need to modify the Nagiosconfiguration covered later in this document.Configure NRPE For Automatic StartupNext, configure NRPE to automatically start when the AIX server reboots. To do this, use the following command:nohup /usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe -c /usr/local/nagios/etc -n -dYou should get this reponse:Sending nohup output to nohup.out.Note: The -n flag specifies that the NRPE server should run without SSL support. This reduces security of the NRPE daemon, butdramatically increases performance under heavy server load and may be okay if your server is on an internal network protected by a firewall.Start NRPEStart NRPE using the following command:/usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe –c /usr/local/nagion/etc/nrpe.cfg -n –dTest Your NRPE ConfigurationTest your AIX server to see if NRPE is running properly. To do this, use the following command:ps -ef | grep nrpeYou should see something that looks like this:nagios 111345 43675 /usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe –c /usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg -n –dNote: The output you see may differ slightly, as the PID number will be different on your system.Important: If you don't see any output when running the above command, it means something is wrong with your setup! This may berelated to problems in your NRPE configuration file (/usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg).Nagios ConfigurationOnce you are finished installing and configuring NRPE on the AIX server, you'll need to modify the monitoring configuration on yourNagios server. The process for configuring your monitoring setup is determined by whether you are using Nagios XI or Nagios Core.
